My Second Project

Ticket Purchasing Site

I wanted to design a more common user flow so I made a site with a transaction flow. Additionally, I wanted to make a desktop site to differentiate this project from my first. To further separate these projects I made this project with Adobe XD as apposed to Figma, which I used for my first project. Since this is my first desktop project I went for a graceful degradation approach to focus on the desktop version.

Site Map

My first step was to make a site map to briefly outline what kind of content would appear on each page. For my music app project I had a better idea of what menus and screens I'd have but this project was a newer concept to me so I wanted to organize what initial pages the site needed and work from there.

Digital Wireframes
(Desktop)

I started this project as a desktop website so my initial wireframes were for 1920x1080. I noticed that some artists have sites that advertise their show tickets and merchandise but just redirect to different sites that handle ticket and merchandise sales. I thought this this didn't have a good user flow and wasn't very intuitive so I wanted the site to function as a bands site, ticket seller and merchandise retailer.

Digital Wireframes
(Mobile)

Once completing the initial desktop wireframes I decided to make wireframes for a mobile version of the site. 92% of people who have access to the internet browse it from mobile devices so I made sure to include a design for those devices too. Additionally, I saw it as a fun challenge to transfer an existing design to a different platform while maintaining the same continuity between 2 different devices.

Desktop Prototype

The main user flow for this site is the merchandise transaction so this is the flow I made the prototype for and can be seen here!

Mockup

The first page I made for the mockup was the home page, since this is the first the user sees and is the launching point for the rest of the site. Since this is a site for a band I wanted to show the band themselves front and center so I chose a feature image/single layout design.

HiFi Prototype

For the overlay design of the site I decided on something energetic, modern, and simple. To accomplish this I went for a simple layout but used a bright and vibrant red for energy. For a modern look I made the ticket count button big with a large and bold number to display the quantity.
